It's pie time!
I've been neglecting to make pies so far this summer, and made my first in while last Friday. It was a blueberry-ginger pie from Everyday Food (although using my mom's crust recipe. Sorry Martha.) It was different- I thought the ginger flavor was a little overpowering at first, but in the end I liked it. I'm happy to say my pie-making skills did not get rusty; I think this was my best pie crust yet. Here's me baking in my awesome new cupcake apron I got from my sister Michelle for my birthday.

I'm thinking of baking another pie tonight, for weekend actvities. Hmmm... peach? Peach-apple? Pear? We'll see!

Owning an apron = +1 in the good housewife column. (And I'm sure baking your own pies from scratch ain't hurting you, either.)
